A youth was injured in a firing incident linked to an old dispute in Dehradun’s Patelnagar area on Thursday. The firing took place at two locations and police have started searching for the accused.

The first incident took place around 3 PM near a private college in the Patelnagar area. According to police, Gurmeet arrived in a car with some associates and allegedly opened fire at Sahil, Sujal, Daksh, Anshul, Aditya and Vishal. No one was injured in the first firing.

Gurmeet then allegedly fled from the spot in the car. The youths followed him. A second firing took place near St Jude Chowk on Shimla Bypass Road. Sahil was injured in the firing and was admitted to Indresh Hospital.

Police said the vehicle allegedly used in the incident has a Haryana number. Preliminary investigation suggests that both sides were earlier friends but had developed differences over the past few months, police said.

Gurmeet reportedly had a dispute with Aditya, Sujal and Anshul. Police said that they are now searching for Gurmeet and his associates and are investigating the reason behind the dispute.
