Five dengue & one Covid-19 cases reported in Dehradun

Dehradun district reported five new cases of dengue and one case of Covid-19 on Wednesday. The chief medical officer (CMO), Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma said that out of the five positive dengue cases, three had been reported at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Rishikesh and one each at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital and Himalayan Hospital. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 245 with 122 originating from Dehradun and 123 from other districts or States.
Currently, there are 18 active dengue patients receiving treatment: eight at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, four at Graphic Era Hospital and two each at Himalayan Hospital and AIIMS Rishikesh while the rest two are being cared for at home.
Further, Dr Sharma reported that one new case of Covid-19 was confirmed on Wednesday, raising the cumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the district to 113, which includes 93 local residents and 20 migrants. There are currently two active Covid-19 cases in Dehradun district. A total of 10 samples were tested for Covid-19 on Wednesday, contributing to a cumulative total of 1,256 samples tested.
Dr Sharma also said that no deaths from Covid-19 have been reported in Dehradun district so far.
