In latest news from Dehradun, the Governor Lieutenant General (Rtd) Gurmit Singh announced that forestry research would be introduced in the universities based in Uttarakhand and added that at least one such research work must be conducted which would bring direct benefits for the people of the State. He said this during a special interaction programme held to mark his completion of two years as the Governor. He shared his experiences, challenges and future agenda during the programme. He stressed on research works which would help simplify the life of the State’s people and mitigate the hardships. He said that he would meet the vice- chancellors of the universities soon and give them the necessary directives.
