The chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni has said that the announcement of free hand given to the Vigilance Establishment against corruption in the State by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is an eyewash.
She said that in the case of having assets more than known sources of income against cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi, Vigilance had sought approval of the State cabinet for initiating investigation on the allegations of corruption against the minister. Dasauni said that till date no such approval was given to Vigilance and the issue was not put before the cabinet.
The Congress leader claimed that a series of scams such as horticulture scam, Sainya Dham scam, Haridwar land scam and meter scam in UPCL have taken place during the BJP rule.
She said that corruption is rampant in Uttarakhand at every level and the BJP government’s claim of zero tolerance for corruption is mere rhetoric.
Dasauni claimed that no department of government is free from corruption but no action is being taken against corruption and the corrupt in the State.
