French students on 2-day study tour at GBPUAT

A group of nine French students, part of the DEFIA project, arrived at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT), Pantnagar, for a study tour of the College of Community Sciences. The group, representing various French educational institutions, are studying the teaching, training and research activities conducted in various departments of the college during the two-day visit from October 17 to 18.

The French students have been receiving hands-on training in various departments. In the food and nutrition department, they were taught how to make bakery products like muffins and cakes. In the apparel and textile science department, students were trained in textile dyeing and printing techniques where they created attractive designs using various dyeing techniques.
The RMCS department taught the students the traditional Aipan art of Uttarakhand, while the family development and human resource management department took them on a tour of a day care centre and nursery school and introduced them to innovative teaching-learning methods.
In the EECM department, students received training in digital designing, which taught them how to create posters, greeting cards and other creative designs on the computer.
