Rudrapur Municipal Corporation to light 51,000 lamps

Fifty one thousand lamps will be lit during ‘Shubh Diwali, Swachh Diwali’ to be organised by Rudrapur municipal corporation on Saturday. This festival will be celebrated at two places of the city, Kalyani Vatika and Gandhi Park.
Speaking of this, the mayor Vikas Sharma said that the event would begin with a massive cleanliness drive on the banks of the Kalyani river at 3 PM on Saturday. Aside from the councillors and civic body employees, members of several social organisations will actively participate. Following this, the festival of lights will begin at Kalyani Vatika at 6 PM. A similar festival of lights will then be held at Gandhi Park starting at 7 PM. The target is to light a total of 51,000 lamps at both locations.
The mayor appealed to the city’s residents to participate in the festival of lights and the cleanliness drive in large numbers to make this effort a success. He also urged people to keep their homes and surroundings clean and to celebrate Deepawali in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
