Future of State hinges on future of its students: CM Dhami

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the students will play a major role in making Uttarakhand one of the leading states of the country. The CM was addressing the students of Doon University on Wednesday. He said that the future of the State hinges on the future of the youngsters and the government is standing shoulder to shoulder with them.

Congratulating the newly enrolled students of the university, the CM said that the Doon University is making steady progress in the sphere of education. Exhorting the youngsters, the CM said that they have the potential to convert challenges into opportunities and create new milestones with their creativity. He said that the efforts are continuously being made to make Uttarakhand one of the leading states of the country and dialogue with the people is part of this endeavour. 

The CM said that Uttarakhand is the first State in the country to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He expressed happiness at the fact that Nityanand Himalayan Research and Study centre has been set up in the Doon University for the conservation, preservation and research in the field of folk languages, dialects and literature.

 Speaking on the occasion the education minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that more than 71,000 students have taken admission in different colleges of the State with the help of Samarth Portal. He said that e-granthalayas have been set up in all the colleges of the State. Rawat said that an educational calendar has been released to ensure that the education of the students remains unaffected in the State. He further informed that the State government has taken a decision to hold convocation ceremonies in all the universities of the State in the month of November. Rawat said that a Chief Minister Scholarship scheme has been started for the meritorious students of the State.

The vice chancellor (VC) of the university Surekha Dangwal said that the fact that CM decided to address the induction- orientation ceremony of the new students shows his concern towards education. The CM inaugurated the new building of the School of management and an open theatre on the occasion

 The Dharampur MLA Vinod Chamoli, dean student welfare (DSW) H C Purohit, students and faculty members were present on the occasion.
