GBPUAT & SIT, New Zealand ink MoU on research collaboration

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) meant to promote research collaboration, student exchange and faculty development programmes was signed between Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology (GBPUAT) and Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) of New Zealand. While the vice- chancellor Manmohan Singh Chauhan signed it on behalf of GBPUAT the chief executive officer of SIT, Daryl Hagetree represented his institute.
Under this agreement, joint studies and research projects will be conducted between the two institutions on topics such as dairy research, sustainable agricultural practices and reduction of greenhouse gases. Apart from this, students of both the institutions will also be provided opportunities for study and training abroad.
Hailing the event, the VC said that it would be an important step in the field of agriculture and dairy technology between India and New Zealand.
A SIT delegation visited Fisheries and Crop Research Centre and National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP).
