The Principal of the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Dr Ashutosh Sayana has said that the hospital is ready to deal with the rising cases of the Covid-19. He said that the hospital has adequate arrangements for testing of the Covid-19 patients and its Flu OPD is fully operational and equipped. The hospital has an adequate number of beds for the patients. Dr Sayana said 28 patients of Covid-19 are admitted in the hospital. He added that a total of 1028 patients came to the OPD of the hospital on Wednesday and out of them 225 got themselves examined at Flu OPD.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dehradun is the worst affected district in the state in terms of Covid-19 pandemic. The PR here is very high and one out of every five people tested it getting positive for the disease. The GDMC acted as the dedicated Covid- 19 treatment centre during the first and second waves of the pandemic.
