In latest news from Doon, the State tourism and culture minister Satpal Maharaj said that under a Central government’s scheme, Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN) is now installing EV charging stations on the Char Dham Yatra route as the executive agency. As these are universal chargers, these would charge all EV vehicles, he said, adding that Tehri Hydro Development Corporation India Limited (THDCIL) is setting up EV charging stations at 14 GMVN guest houses on the Char Dham Yatra route.
He further said that the Adi Kailash, Om Parvat Heli Darshan Tour Package launched by Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board has been eliciting good response and the pilot runs for the winter Heli Darshan package starting in November are now being conducted. There would be 12 to 15 tourists in each batch and a total of six helicopters would be engaged in this service, he added.
