Godiyal demands SIT to probe authenticity of Pandey’s letter & allegations

The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal has demanded that a special investigation team (SIT) monitored by court should be ordered to probe the authenticity of the letter written by the BJP MLA from Gadarpur, Arvind Pandey and the allegations levelled by him. Addressing a press conference at Rajiv Bhawan here on Friday, Godiyal said that the letter which is written on the official letter pad of Pandey and also bears his signature and seal is circulating on the social media platforms. In the letter, the name of the person to whom the letter is addressed is smeared with ink but one can easily understand to whom the letter is addressed, he said. 

Godiyal said that in his letter, Pandey has accused chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of conspiring against him for the past four years. He stated in the letter that at Dhami’s instigation, a false case was filed at the Bajpur police station on March 13, 2025.

The PCC president said that Pandey in his letter said that on January 20, 2026, a false case of land grabbing was filed against his family, implicating his 68 year-old brother-in-law who is unable to walk and his sister who is suffering from cancer. Pandey also mentioned that some police officers are being used to pressure him and his family. Godiyal added that BJP MLA has alleged that the CM is promoting political factionalism and conspiring to harm him politically and socially.

The PCC president demanded that the authenticity of the letter should be verified. He said that the letter shows that the ruling party MLA is not feeling safe in the State.

Badrinath MLA Lakhpat Singh Butola, Mahila Congress president Jyoti Rautela, spokesperson Pratima Singh and Abhinav Thapar accompanied the PCC president.
