Government committed to women empowerment & safety: CM

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that a campaign of women empowerment is underway in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The CM was addressing people after inaugurating Durga temple in Bengali colony in Nanakmatta on Monday.
The CM said that the government has initiated the process of women empowerment by bringing in the law against triple Talaq, opening of Jan Dhan accounts of women, construction of toilets, women safety and women reservation. The CM said that the state government is committed to ensuring the safety of women right from their birth. The CM announced a master plan for development of Nanakmatta on the occasion.
Offering prayers at the temple the CM said that he is fortunate to inaugurate the temple of Maa Durga. He congratulated the people of the State on the occasion of Durga Mahotsav, Shardiya Navratri, Vijaya Dasami, Goverdhan Pooja and Ramnavami. Remembering Swami Vivekanand, Gurudev Ravindranath Tagore, BC Chaterjee and Raja Ram Mohan Ray the CM said that the great personalities of Bengal have served the mother India. He said that the people from Bengal have made the country proud in the fields of spirituality, science, culture and arts. Dhami said that Durga Puja is the festival of unity and it provides a new shine to India.
He said that the BJP government has fulfilled long standing demands of the Bengali families residing in Uttarakhand. The CM said that the government has given ownership rights to the families that had come from East Pakistan and were living on Nazul land in Uttarakhand. The government also removed the East Pakistan word from the certificates of the children of these families displaced from East Pakistan and settled in Uttarakhand. Dhami announced construction of Bengal Bhawan in Rudrapur and declared that a partition tragedy memorial will be constructed. He said the Uttarakhand government will hold Global Investors summit in Dehradun on December 8 and 9 and the government has already signed memoranda of understanding (MoU) worth Rs 55,000 crore for the summit.
MLA Shiv Arora, Mayor Rampal Singh, BJP district president Kamal Jindal, former MLA Prem Singh Rana and the officers of administration and police were present on the occasion.
