Governor asks UKPSC to maintain highest standards of transparency & accountability

 Governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh has said that the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) should always meet the highest standards of transparency, fairness and accountability.

The governor made the observation while interacting with the chairman and the members of the UKPSC at Lok Bhawan on Thursday.

While praising the innovative initiatives being adopted by the UKPSC, the governor said that it should utilise more and more modern technology in its work. He suggested that a book be published compiling the commission’s experiences, challenges and achievements in the past 25 years, to help develop better practices in the future. The governor also called for studying best practices adopted in other States and implementing them as needed. The UKPSC chairman, Ravi Dutt Godiyal presented the annual report and gave detailed information about the commission’s ongoing work and activities. 

Godiyal informed that the selection recommendations of a total of 3,149 candidates have been sent to the government through various examinations conducted by the Commission in the year 2025. He informed that the Commission is also working on the process of digital evaluation of answer sheets, so that the evaluation system can be made more error-free, transparent and effective. Godiyal said that keeping in mind the convenience of the candidates, a mobile application is being developed by the commission, through which the candidates will be able to directly get all the information related to the examinations conducted by the commission. The chairman also informed that a new system is being developed by the commission to provide the facility to the candidates to view their marks, under which the candidates will be able to easily view their marks by logging in to the commission’s website.

The members of the UKPSC Anil Kumar Rana, Nandi Raju Srivastava, Richa Gaur and secretary Ashok Kumar Pandey were present on the occasion.
