Joshi directs government hospitals to implement HIMS of ABDM

The chief executive officer of State Health Authority and the state mission director of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), Reena Joshi has directed the government hospitals to implement the Hospital Information Management System (HIMS) of ABDM. She gave the order while chairing a virtual meeting of the chief medical officers (CMO), deputy CMOs and officers associated with ABDM on Thursday.
In the meeting she also directed that a model ABDM hospital should be set up in every district. She also directed all Community Health Centres (CHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs) in the State to prioritize empowerment work under the ABDM. She said that the HIMS is to be implemented in mission mode in accordance with directives received from the Government of India. She also directed hospitals to register all patients using QR codes and ensure that patients’ health records are digitally linked.
Joshi also directed the CMOs for the appointment of nodal ABDM officers in all districts and the provision of information about Scan and Share and Scan and Pay to everyone. He also stressed the need for widespread publicity of this system. In the meeting the ABDM manager Pragya Paliwal gave a presentation on implementation of HIMS in hospitals.
