Governor launches TB awareness campaign

The governor Lieutenant General (Retd) Gurmit Singh has said that public awareness and participation is necessary to achieve the target of making Uttarakhand free from TB by the year 2024.
He was speaking in a programme organised at Raj Bhawan to launch the TB seal, the awareness campaign undertaken by the TB association of Uttarakhand.
The governor announced to donate a sum of Rs 1.25 lakh for the TB seal campaign. The seal is priced at Rs five and is launched to create public awareness against the disease.
He said that the people should be informed about the initial symptoms of TB and that if treated early the disease can be cured completely. The governor assured that all the universities will take part in the awareness campaign.
