Arun Kumar Tripathi made the officiating VC of the university

Following the State High Court’s order, the Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) removed the vice- chancellor (VC) of Uttarakhand Ayurved University (UAU) Sunil Kumar from his post on Wednesday. While dealing with a petition, Uttarakhand High Court (HC) had held Kumar not eligible to hold the post of VC as per the UGC guidelines according to which the candidate applying for the post of VC must have at least 10 years’ experience as a Professor.
To ensure that the university functions smoothly in academic and other fields, a professor of the same university working from Haridwar campus Arun Kumar Tripathi has been appointed as the officiating VC. Tripathi’s tenure as the officiating VC is for six months from the date on which he assumes charge or till the appointment of a regular vice-chancellor.
