Govt ends night curfew following drop in new cases

Considering the drop in number of new Covid-19 cases, the state government has ended the night curfew. This and other decisions taken by the government were implemented through an order issued on Wednesday. According to the order signed by the chief secretary Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, all gymnasiums, shopping malls, cinema halls, spas, salons, theatres, meeting halls and auditoriums and related activities will be held in observance of Covid protocols according to capacity. However, swimming pools and water parks will remain closed in the state till February 28. Sports institutions, stadiums and sports grounds will be open for training of players according to capacity. Further, all social, sports, recreational, marriage and cultural programmes can now be held to the full capacity of the venue while observing Covid protocols. Political rallies, protests and demonstrations will not be permitted till February 28. Hotels, restaurants, eateries and dhabas will be permitted to operate dining facilities at capacity in observance of Covid protocols. Further, the activities prohibited by the Election Commission of India will not be allowed. All government and private schools from classes I to XII will be open in accordance with standard operating procedures. All Anganwadi centres in the state will open from March 1 for which the detailed guidelines will be issued separately by the Women Empowerment and Child Development department.Covid appropriate behaviour will be followed in all public places, tourist spots, bazaars, bus stands, railway stations and other crowded places.
