Graduation ceremony of ACC wing held at IMA Dehradun

In a ceremony presided over by the commandant of Indian Military Academy (IMA) Lieutenant General, Sandeep Jain, degrees were awarded to 15 cadets of humanities and 13 cadets of science stream belonging to 123 Course of Army Cadet College (ACC) in the Chetwode Hall of IMA on Saturday. The cadets were conferred degrees from the prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
In his convocation address, the IMA commandant congratulated the cadets for successfully completing the rigorous training and having crossed an important milestone in their professional career. He emphasised that character, self-discipline, courage, motivation, positive attitude and professional competence are pillars of a successful army officer.
The commandant complimented the commander of the ACC wing, Brigadier Sameer Karol and his team of instructors and faculty members for their diligent efforts in shaping the cadets into potential officers of the Indian Army.
On the occasion, the Commandant’s Banner to the Champion Company was awarded to Bogra Company.The banner is awarded to the company, which excels in various competitions like sports, academics, camps, debates and interior economy.
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) gold medal was awarded to Dinesh Kumar, the COAS silver medal was awarded to Jitendra Thirpola and COAS bronze medal was conferred to Vikas Singh Chauhan. The Commandant’s silver medals for being first in services and humanities subjects was awarded to Jitendra Thirpola while Dinesh Kumar received silver medal for being first in science stream.
The ACC has a history of training selected personnel from other ranks of all three Services who have the potential to become officers in the Indian Army. After three years of training at the ACC, the graduated course will join the IMA for one year for their pre-commissioning training.
