In latest news from Uttarakhand, the head priest of the Bharamal Baba temple located amidst the Surai forest range of Khatima in Udham Singh Nagar district Hari Giri Maharaj along with one of his servitors is suspected to have murdered by unidentified assailants in late night hours. On receiving information, a team of district police led by SP (city) Manoj Katyal rushed to the temple and started investigation. Police said that prima facie it seemed they were murdered though they were investigating the crime from all angles. As per police, there was another servitor of the temple’s head priest whom the criminals attacked and left him supposing dead though he was alive. He was rushed to the Khatima government hospital. Preliminary police investigation revealed that the duo was thrashed by sticks. Notably, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had visited this temple on December 28 last year and said that it would be dveloped into a religious centre. The CM’s visit was followed that of the district magistrate Udai Raj Singh who directed the officials concerned to beautify the temple appropriately in tune with its sanctity.
