Health dept appoints 40 newly recruited nursing officers

Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat handed over appointment letters to 40 newly recruited nursing officers on Monday in Dehradun. The minister said that the Uttarakhand medical services recruitment board had recently initiated a recruitment drive on 1,564 posts of nursing officers in the State and it had selected 1,411 candidates for these posts.
The health department gave appointment letters to 1,394 nursing officers out of whom 1,354 had assumed charge. The minister said that the Health department cancelled the selection of the candidates who failed to assume their charge and selected 40 new candidates from the waiting list. These candidates will be appointed in the health centres located in remote areas. He said that eight nursing officers were appointed in Pithoragarh, six in Pauri, five in Almora, four each in Tehri, Haridwar, Rudraprayag and Nainital and two in Dehradun district. One nursing officer has been appointed in Uttarkashi, Bageshwar and Champawat district each.
The Minister said that the appointment of new nursing officers will help in strengthening and improving the health services in health centres located in remote and mountainous areas of the State.
The Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, director general health services Dr Tara Arya, advisor NHM Dr Tripti Bahuguna and others attended the programme.
