Health minister directs doctors to work responsibly

Health minister Subodh Uniyal has said that the doctors must discharge their duties with complete responsibility and sensitivity and ensure that the patients get quality care and timely treatment. The minister gave the directive while conducting a surprise inspection at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Raipur on Friday to review the ground reality of health services. During the visit, all doctors were present at the Hospital. Uniyal also closely examined the health facilities being extended to patients.
The minister first inspected the prescription counter and then checked the hospital’s outpatient department (OPD), medicine distribution centre, wards, emergency ward and sanitation. The minister also interacted with patients who had come to the hospital and asked about the facilities available to them. He also inspected the ECG outpatient department (OPD) functioning on the said day.
During the inspection, he issued clear directions to ensure hospital administration prevent doctors from prescribing medicines from outside.
He also laid special stress on maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the hospital premises. The minister said providing dignified and quality healthcare to patients is the government’s foremost priority.
During the visit, the Health minister also inspected the new building under construction at CHC Raipur. He said the new building’s completion will offer modern and better healthcare facilities to local residents. The hospital’s efficiency will improve further through State-of-the-art resources and streamlined medical services.
He further instructed Health department officials to provide timely treatment, medicines and required testing facilities to every patient visiting the hospital, so the public can get relief.
