Unemployment rate decreases & GSDP increases in U’khand: CM

 Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that while unemployment rate in the State has fallen to a record low, the reverse migration has increased significantly.

He was addressing a programme organised at his residence on Friday. In the programme, the CM handed over appointment letters to 483 candidates selected for various positions in the Irrigation and Agriculture departments of the State. 

The CM averred that Uttarakhand is scaling new heights of development. He said that the GSDP growth rate has been recorded at 7.23 per cent and the per capita income has increased by 41 per cent in the last four years. Dhami said that this year the State’s budget has exceeded Rs one lakh crores. 

Paying tribute to former CM major general ( retd) Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri, Dhami said that Khanduri envisioned a Uttarakhand where youth are recognized for their hard work and talent.

Dhami said appointment letters are tribute to the hard work, dedication and determination of talented youth. He expressed confidence that the youth will play a significant role in the development of the State and nation by discharging their responsibilities with complete devotion, honesty and a spirit of service. He said that only when the recruitment process is transparent, capable and honest people enter the system. 

The CM said that the State government has implemented the country’s strictest anti-copying law  and the recruitment process now is based on hard work and talent. “This new work culture is becoming Uttarakhand’s greatest strength. As a result, nearly 33,000 young people have secured government jobs in the past four and a half years,’’ he said.  

The CM said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is moving forward with the resolution of Viksit Bharat India by 2047. 

Addressing the programme the Irrigation minister Satpal Maharaj said that under the CM Dhami’s leadership, a transparent, fair and merit-based recruitment process in the State has been set in place.  

He said that the Irrigation department is not just a department of canals and projects, but also a strong foundation for farmer prosperity, water conservation, and the rural economy. He expressed confidence that the newly appointed employees will also be partners in the State’s progress and meet the public’s expectations.

Agriculture minister Ganesh Joshi said that after the implementation of strict anti-copying laws, only deserving and hardworking students are now getting selected for the jobs.

MLA Savita Kapoor, Umesh Sharma Kau, Dileep  Rawat, principal secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, secretary Surendra Narayan Pandey, Yugal Kishore Pant and others attended the programme.
