Heavy rain is likely to occur in six districts of the State today. The State Meteorological Centre on Sunday issued a yellow warning for heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Nainital and Bageshwar districts on Monday. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous districts of the State while thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in the districts. The centre informed that during the past 24 hours, maximum temperatures remained normal to above normal in the plains and normal in the mountainous regions of the State.
Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense/heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 31 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures reported on Sunday were 31.2 degrees Celsius and 24.3 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34.4 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.5 degrees Celsius and 15.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.7 degrees Celsius and 16.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. Light to moderate rain was reported in various places with 32 millimetres in Nainital, 31 millimetres in Chaubatia Ranikhet, 24.5 millimetres in Thailisain, 17.5 millimetres in Chorgalia, 14.5 millimetres in Bhimtal, 13.5 millimetres in Pauri and 11.5 millimetres in Haldwani.
