HIMS & THDCIL launch weekly specialist medical camp

In a significant boost to regional healthcare, Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS) Jolly Grant, Dehradun, and THDC India Limited have launched a weekly specialist medical camp at the THDCIL Hospital in Bhagirathipuram, Tehri. The initiative was officially inaugurated jointly by Swami Rama Himalayan University president Vijay Dhasmana, THDCIL executive director (Projects) Kumar Sharad and chief general manager (Tehri Complex) R R Semwal.
Highlighting the vision behind this tie-up, Dhasmana emphasised that the primary goal is to reach the last mile of society with quality and expert healthcare services. He noted that having HIMS specialists travel to Tehri every week will bring top-tier medical consultation directly to the doorsteps of the locals, rendering this collaboration a critical, long-term milestone for community welfare.
Supporting this vision, Sharad stated that this programme marks a monumental step in providing quality specialist medical care, expressing immense confidence that it will significantly strengthen the local healthcare ecosystem.
Notably, the expert doctors from Himalayan Hospital, Jolly Grant, will provide consultations and treatments every Wednesday at the THDCIL Hospital in Bhagirathipuram. The weekly medical camp would bring crucial expertise to the region, featuring specialists from the Medicine, Paediatrics, and Gynaecology departments available every single Wednesday, the hospital sources said. Additionally, to ensure comprehensive care, Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialists will visit the camp to offer their dedicated services on the first and third Wednesday of every month.
