Hindi connects Indian society, enriches our culture: CM Dhami

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that Hindi is not only a language but is also the soul of the country. Hindi has connected Indian society and has enriched its culture. The CM attended a programme organised by the Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan on the occasion of Hindi Diwas on Saturday. Greeting people on the occasion of Hindi Diwas, the CM expressed his gratitude to the people who have made a significant contribution for the promotion of Hindi. He said that the day is an occasion to celebrate the pride of our culture. Dhami said that Hindi has given us a special place on the world stage and it is not only a medium of communication for us but also our identity. Hindi is also a symbol of culture and Indianness and it has tried to bind our diverse society into one thread, the CM said.
He added that Hindi is full of spontaneity, simplicity and power and has a wonderful capacity for coordination.
The CM said that from the time of India’s freedom struggle till date Hindi has remained the main medium of social consciousness. He said that the State government is continuously working for the encouragement of Hindi. The CM praised the efforts of Uttarakhand Bhasha Sansthan for the promotion of Hindi language. He said that the State government presents ‘Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman’ to eminent authors of Hindi every year. The CM said that today when India is moving towards becoming the world leader the promotion of Hindi has become even more important. He added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made great efforts to establish Hindi on the global platform.
Cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal said that the State government is taking measures to encourage budding authors. He said that recently a request was made to the CM to increase the amount of Sahitya Bhushan Award to Rs five lakh, which he has approved.
Rajpur MLA Khajan Das, noted author and former Vice Chancellor Sudha Rani Pandey, VC Doon University Surekha Dangwal, Secretary Vinod Raturi, Director Bhasha Sansthan Swati Bhadoria and others attended the programme.
