Dehradun police have been put on alert due to rain in Dehradun and nearby mountainous districts on Tuesday. The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Pramendra Dobal said that police teams are patrolling sensitive areas in all police station areas. “We are keeping a close watch on rivers, streams and other places that may be affected by the rain,” Dobal said.
Police are using loudhailers to warn people living near rivers and streams. People have been asked not to go near the water. Police teams are also moving people from vulnerable areas to safer places.
The water level of the Ganga has also increased in the Rishikesh area. Police said this happened after water was released from the Srinagar Dam. Police teams are patrolling the Ganga ghats and warning people about the rising water level.
Police officials have asked people to stay away from rivers and streams and follow safety instructions. Police teams will continue patrolling sensitive areas until the situation improves.
