PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun
In a crackdown on illegal number plate manufacturing units, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) team raided a company premises near the RTO office on Monday and sealed it after finding irregularities. According to the officials, ARTO (Administration) Chakrapani Mishra, along with TTO Pragya Pant, inspected the High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) embossing sites near RTO office.
During the inspection, the officials discovered that HSRP registration number plates were being manufactured there, even though the license was issued in the name of another company. The company failed to produce any documentation related to the manufacturing of the number plates, the team members said.
Additionally, a number plate was found, which was registered to another vehicle in the series and bore a different laser number. Only one employee was present at the facility and he could not provide any online documents, officials reported.
They further informed that the ARTO has been instructed to investigate further and submit a report on the matter, while the company office has been sealed until further orders. If any irregularities are confirmed, legal action will be taken, the officers warned.
