In latest news from Uttarakhand, with heavy downpour lashing Kotdwar since last night, normal life in the town has been thrown out of gear. Debris blocked the alternative road near Malanpur bridge and then the Kotdwar-Dugadda road was blocked.
Rain water entered some shops on the Station Road in Kotdwar, forcing the owners to shut down and leave. They said that the rain water that entered shops damaged goods stocked in them. The people said that the administration’s monsoon-preparations remained restricted to stocking of food items for emergency days with other critical areas being ignored.
