Independent Lotni sworn in as nagar panchayat president

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the sub-divisional magistrate Tushar Saini administered the oath of office and secrecy to Surendra Kumar Lotni who successfully contested as an independent candidate for the post of president in the Lalkuan nagar panchayat elections along with six councillors. After the oath taking ceremony, Lotni said that everyone would be taken along in the development of the nagar panchayat, adding that the entire board would work for its development. Notably, four candidates, including those from BJP and Congress, had been in the fray and the ex-serviceman Lotni had won convincingly.
Among those present were the former cabinet minister Harish Chandra Durgapal and Century Pulp and Paper Mill CEO Ajay Kumar Gupta.
