Interstate burglary gang from Delhi arrested in Dehradun

Dehradun police arrested three members of an interstate burglary gang from Delhi in the case of house theft in the Patelnagar area. The accused had broken into a locked house and stolen cash, jewellery and a car. Police recovered  around one lakh cash, a car, one country made pistol, a knife, and one khukri.

The arrested accused have been identified as Manglu (30), Manoj (34) and Ajay (38). According to the information, the burglary took place on December 8, 2025. After the incident, police checked CCTV cameras in and around Patel Nagar and collected local information. 

Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested three accused on Saturday near Telpur Chowk. The police recovered the stolen Maruti car, cash of more than one lakh rupees, gold and silver jewellery and other stolen items from the possession of the accused. Weapons including a country-made pistol, cartridges, a knife and a khukri were also recovered.

During questioning, the accused admitted that they came from Delhi after doing proper reconnaissance and targeted locked houses. They also tried to commit a burglary in Rishikesh using the stolen car, but failed. Police said the arrested accused are habitual criminals and have several cases registered against them in Delhi. Further investigation in the case is continuing.
