The district’s new superintendent of police, Kamlesh Upadhyay assumed office as the 20th SP since the formation of Uttarakhand on Thursday. Before assuming charge, he visited the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and offered prayers.
After assuming office, he met the district’s senior police officers at the Police Line at Gyansoo. At the meeting, he stressed on special surveillance of sensitive areas, control of crimes and maintaining positive communication with the people.
Earlier, the former SP, Sarita Dobhal was given farewell at the Police Lines. She has been transferred to the Intelligence headquarters in Dehradun.
