Karnataka leads in 38th National Games with 30 gold medals

Karnataka has established a lead in the 38th National Games, securing a total of 56 medals including 30 gold, 11 silver and 15 bronze so far. Officials reported that the games have been marked by intense competition across various sports disciplines. As of February 6, Karnataka was leading the medal tally.
Following closely behind Karnataka, the Services Sports Control Board is in second place, with a total of 52 medals comprising 28 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze. Their consistent performance across different sporting categories keeps them in close contention for the top position.
The officials further said that Maharashtra is currently in third place with an overall tally of 88 medals, including 19 gold, 36 silver and 33 bronze. Madhya Pradesh is also performing well, having secured 36 medals in total, consisting of 18 gold, 8 silver and 10 bronze. Meanwhile, Haryana ranks fifth with a strong showing of 55 medals, which includes 13 gold, 20 silver and 22 bronze, they said.
The officials said that the other States with notable medal counts include Tamil Nadu with 47 medals, Manipur and Delhi with 29 medals each and Kerala with 24 medals. Punjab follows with 33 medals, while the host state, Uttarakhand, has managed to earn 39 medals, including eight gold medals. The competition remains fierce, with athletes pushing the limits of human endurance to achieve excellence in their events. With several events yet to take place, the rankings may shift further in the future. Officials emphasised that the 38th National Games embody the spirit of sportsmanship and excellence in Indian sports.
