The Corbett Heritage Jungle Safari route in Kaladhungi has reopened for tourists on Saturday. The Kaladhungi MLA Banshidhar Bhagat flagged off the safari vehicles, marking the official start of the season. In his inaugural address, Bhagat said that aside from providing Kaladhungi a new identity on the tourism map, this initiative would boost employment opportunities for local residents.
Known as the workplace of the world-renowned Jim Corbett, this forest route is considered a significant step toward promoting environmental awareness, wildlife conservation and rural tourism.
Addressing the gathering, the divisional forest officer Dhruv Singh Martolia said that efforts would be made to further improve the safari experience. “Now, visitors will not only get to enjoy Corbett Waterfall and Corbett Museum but also the thrill of an adventurous jungle safari,” he added.
On the first day, four safari vehicles set out to explore the forest, according to the foresters.
