A meeting of the expert committee- constituted to set standards for research publications in the university- was held in the administrative building of Kumaun University, Nainital presided over by the vice chancellor, Prof Diwan Singh Rawat.
As per the KU sources, the committee is also preparing a list of recognised research journals and developing quality criteria.
In the meeting, there was an in-depth discussion on the increased responsibility on higher educational institutions after the end of the CARE list and the transparency, authenticity and subject relevance of research journals.
The VC said that this initiative would not only strengthen academic reputation of the university but inspire teachers and researchers to do quality -based research work. “The committee will soon issue a clear quality matrix to ensure that the quality of research publications is in accordance with the university standards,” he added.
