Leaders & officials cast votes in ULB elections

Several leaders and senior officials cast their votes in the urban local body elections on Thursday. Vidhan Sabha speaker and Kotdwar MLA Ritu Bhushan Khanduri stood in queue to cast her vote in the Municipal Corporation of Kotdwar. She also encouraged others to cast their vote. Cabinet minister Prem Chand Aggarwal cast his vote at Haridwar Road along with his family members. He emphasised the importance of voting, citing his mother, who had reached the polling station despite facing physical challenges.

Cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi exercised his franchise along with his family. He said, “Voting is not only our right but also our duty. Only an informed voter can build a bright future for the State and country.” Apart from this, BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Naresh Bansal cast his vote with his family in the Laxman Chowk area of Dehradun, joining the long queue at the polling station. He urged all voters to cast their votes in this civic election and noted the enthusiasm among voters throughout the State.

Chief secretary Radha Raturi visited the polling booth at the Government Intermediate College in Kishanpur with her family. Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal was also voted in the ULB election, casting his vote at the CNI Girls College located on Rajpur Road. While voting, Bansal emphasized, “Voting today is not just a right but a responsibility. Vote and strengthen democracy.”
