Left leaders demand scraping of labour codes, increase in wages

The leaders of the three Left parties, the CPI, CPI (M) and CPI (ML) have demanded that the government should repeal the four labour codes and accept the legitimate demand of workers. A meeting of the leaders of the three parties was held at the State office of CPI (M) here on Monday.
In the meeting the leaders expressed solidarity with the ongoing labour movement in various parts of the country, including Uttarakhand.
They also expressed serious concern over the rampant inflation in the country and said that petrol and diesel prices have been raised four times in the last ten days. The leaders stated that the police in Uttarakhand, backed by autocratic power, have become completely unbridled.
CPI leader Samar Bhandari, CPI (M) leaders Rajendra Purohit and Rajendra Negi and CPI (ML) leader Indresh Maikhuri attended the meeting.
