The Bharatiya Janata Party is lending final touches to preparations for the three-day Uttarakhand visit of its national president Nitin Nabin starting on May 28. The party’s State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that guidance from the national president during his visit will hold the key to the party’s victory in the 2027 Vidhan Sabha elections.

Interacting with media persons at the party State headquarters before chairing a meet with party office bearers regarding Nabin’s visit, Bhatt said that the party cadre is enthusiastically looking forward to its national president’s first State visit. Party workers will welcome him at more than two dozen points between Dehradun airport and the party office here on Thursday evening with varied folk cultural programmes. The guidance from the national president during various important meetings is expected to provide the party with the key to winning the coming Assembly elections. The election strategy laid out by Nabin and his view on various contemporary issues will work like political weapons for the party workers, Bhatt said.

On the subject of petroleum price rise, the BJP State president said that it was a natural and temporary impact of the West Asia conflict. He said that while there has been a 25 to 50 per cent rise in the prices of petroleum products in most countries, including developed nations, India has remained comparatively unaffected by this due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s able leadership, strategy and diplomacy. By taking most of the burden upon itself, the government had exhibited good energy management to prevent the crisis from affecting the public. However, with the conflict prolonging and the losses of oil companies rising beyond limit, a minimal rise had to be made in the prices of petroleum products as a temporary measure. “The Modi government is concerned about the common people, which is why the prices were not hiked even once during the past four years though relief was provided to the public by cutting the price by upto Rs 10. People of the State and nation are well aware of the global scenario and limitations of the government. The citizens are also observing the PM’s message on energy conservation,” Bhatt said.
