GBPUAT organises 2-day training on empowerment of tribal women

The department of Agricultural Communication, Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, organised a two-day training programme on “Empowerment of Tribal Women through Development and Marketing of Dairy-Based Value-Added Products” under the ICAR-funded Tribal Sub-Plan. The Scheduled Tribe women from Sisona village under Sitarganj block actively participated in the programme. Inaugurating the programme, the director of Extension Education, Jitendra Kwatra lectured on ‘Importance of Clean Milk Production’ and stressed on the need for hygiene and quality standards in milk production.
Ajay Prabhakar, lecturing on ‘Importance of Fodder in Milk Production’, explained the role of a balanced diet in increasing milk production and improving animal health. Anita Arya provided practical training during the session, demonstrating the preparation of milk-based value-added products such as chhena, burfi, peda, ice cream and finger millet (mandua) lassi.
