Residents of Dehradun have expressed concern over delays in the home delivery of domestic LPG cylinders following their bookings. Despite assurances from authorities that deliveries of domestic LPG cylinders would be made within a stipulated timeframe, the situation remains unsatisfactory, causing worry among residents. Addressing the issue, Dehradun District Supply Officer (DSO) KK Aggarwal stated that home delivery of LPG cylinders is being carried out on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Local resident Yash Verma said that he recently booked a domestic LPG cylinder. However, after four to five days, he has yet to receive the home delivery. He said that while the authorities assure residents not to worry, the ongoing delays in cylinder delivery have become a significant concern for those like him. Verma suggested that instead of merely providing reassurances, the authorities should actively work at the ground level to ensure timely delivery of LPG cylinders after booking.
“The delay in the home delivery of domestic LPG cylinders, despite the authorities’ assurances, is persistent. Initially, I faced problems with online booking. After analysing the situation, I personally visited the agency to make a manual booking. However, even after five to six days, I have still not received the cylinder. The authorities should take this issue seriously and ensure that online booking, along with timely delivery, is ensured,” Veena Tyagi (name changed) said.
Many other residents have expressed similar concerns about the delays in home delivering LPG cylinders after booking. Commenting on this, the DSO informed that home delivery is currently ongoing. Aggarwal said that the delivery process is based on the order of bookings; for example, those who booked their cylinders earlier will receive their deliveries first. He also suggested that residents who are facing problem booking LPG cylinders online should attempt it during late hours.
