A team of the Food Supply department conducted a checking drive in seven commercial establishments and restaurants in Nainital to prevent misuse of LPG domestic gas cylinders for commercial purposes.
While most of the food business establishments were found using commercial cylinders as per the order a few were found flouting the order and using domestic LPGs for cooking food for sale. The team took actions immediately, said the department officers.
The regional food officer Surendra Singh Bisht led the department’s drive. He again averred that such drives would be carried on in future too to ensure that the order is being followed by all amid the LPG uncertainty triggered by the ongoing West Asia conflict.
