Lt Col Parikshit Panwar from Rishikesh bestowed with Sena Medal (Gallantry)

Lieutenant Colonel Parikshit Panwar who hails from Rishikesh has been conferred with the Sena Medal (Gallantry) by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu on the eve of the 79th Independence Day. The award had been announced as part of the President’s approval for 127 Gallantry Awards to Armed Forces and Central Armed Police Forces personnel this year. The Sena Medal (Gallantry) is bestowed for acts of exceptional courage, leadership and devotion to duty.

Lt Col Parikshit Panwar completed his schooling in his hometown before graduating from PG College, Rishikesh. In 2007, he cleared the UPSC Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination, earning a place at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai from which he passed out in 2008. He was then commissioned into the elite 12 Mahar Regiment of the Indian Army.
