The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Karan Mahara has said that gross mismanagement prevails in the Char Dham Yatra and the State government is responsible for the chaos in the Yatra He said that it appears as if the State government is not serious about the Yatra. Mahara said that due to mismanagement and carelessness of the local administration on the festival of Ganga Saptami many pilgrims could not reach Gangotri shrine due to which a bad message about the State went in the country.
The PCC president said that the pilgrims are facing problems due to traffic jams during the Yatra. He said that so far 12 pilgrims have died in the Yatra and it appears that the State government has taken no lesson from the Yatra last year during which a number of pilgrims had died due to lack of medical facilities. Mahara said that the government should take immediate measures to ensure safety of the pilgrims in the Yatra.
