Maharaj thanks Singh for approving Rs 202 crore for empowering U’Khand’s Panchayats

The Panchayati Raj minister Satpal Maharaj expressed his gratitude to Union Panchayati Raj minister Lallan Singh for approving Rs 201.22 crore for the empowerment of Panchayats in Uttarakhand. This allocation was sanctioned by Singh within the framework of the annual action plan of the centrally sponsored scheme Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) 2024-25.

Maharaj stated that the amount was approved during the RGSA CEC meeting held on July 31 at the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, specifically for the enhancement of Panchayats in Uttarakhand. He further said that specific amounts have been allocated for various purposes under the approved budget. He informed that Rs 80.32 crore has been designated for capacity building training and other training activities while Rs 33.01 crore has been assigned for training modules, training material, exposure visits, Panchayat learning centre and hand-holding support within and outside the State. Additionally, he said that Rs 7.38 crore has been earmarked for institutional infrastructure, Rs 46.75 crore has been set aside for the construction of 113 Panchayat buildings and 100 additional rooms, he said.

 “Rs 6.22 crore has been allocated for the Scheme Management Unit, Rs 13.72 crore for the purchase of 2,745 computers, Rs 6.52 crore for innovative activities like biodigester, LMS and PLC, Rs 4.13 crore for publicity and Rs 3.15 crore for scheme management,” Maharaj added.
