Man dies after two brothers from MP attempt suicide

Two brothers from Madhya Pradesh attempted suicide in the Kathgodam area with one of them losing his life on Thursday. The younger brother who survived the suicide attempt is reported to be in a serious condition and is undergoing treatment at the Sushila Tiwari government hospital in Haldwani.Kathgodam police station in-charge Vimal Mishra informed that two persons were found in an unconscious state in the jungle along the Baluti Road. Labourers working in the area informed the police. Reaching the site, the police transported the duo to the hospital where one of the men died. The duo had reportedly consumed a poisonous substance. Police probe revealed that the two men were brothers who hailed from the Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. The elder brother Shivesh Mishra (22) died during treatment in the hospital while his younger brother Brijesh Mishra is in a critical condition. According to the police, the family members have been informed about the incident. Initial inquiries have revealed that the probable cause for suicide may be a family dispute. The family members of the two brothers are reported to have departed from Madhya Pradesh for Uttarakhand. Further details of the reasons for the suicide may come to light after the family members arrive here, officials said.
