A shocking case of animal cruelty has come to light after a local resident brutally killed three puppies of a street dog by smashing them on the ground in the Bidhauli area under Premnagar police station in Dehradun on Saturday.
According to a written complaint given to the police, a street dog had given birth to six puppies in the neighbourhood. On Saturday, it is alleged that local resident Mahavir Sajwan, brutally killed three of the puppies by smashing them on the ground. Premnagar police station in-charge Kundan Ram said that an autopsy of the puppies had been conducted and further investigation in the matter is underway.
The complaint was submitted by Pariksha Tomar, a resident of the area. She requested strict action against the accused under animal cruelty laws. Police have registered an FIR and started the investigation in this matter.
