Man posing as Amit Shah’s son captured in Chandigarh

In latest news from Uttarakhand, police finally nabbed the fraudster who-posing as Jay Shah, the son of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah- had been trying to goad at least three MLAs of the State into paying hefty sums of money on the pretext of making them cabinet ministers. Identified as Amrinder Singh (35) from Firozpur district in Punjab, he was arrested from Chandigarh. The three MLAs whom he had called up were Adesh Chauhan (Ranipur, Haridwar); Shiv Arora (Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar) and Sarita Arya (Nainital).
Sharing details, the Haridwar SSP Pramendra Dobhal said that the accused had stayed in a hotel in Haridwar for three days. Police were investigating as to why he had been in Haridwar and what his real motive was, he added. A case had been lodged against Singh, the SSP further informed.
Punjab police said that he was being interrogated following his arrest to understand whether he was alone or had some accomplices to carry on with the fraud. They further said that Singh would also pose as the personal assistant of Jay Shah and a fake identity card with Jay’s and his photo along with the BCCI logo printed on it had been recovered, too.
