The chairman of Uttarakhand Mandi Parishad, Anil Kapoor Dabbu and the Marketing Board members held a meeting with the mandi secretary and other representatives of the mandis here on Wednesday.

In the meeting, as per the instructions of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, discussions were held regarding how the common people of Uttarakhand could get fruits, vegetables and other essential commodities at reasonable prices and how to provide them relief from inflation.

It was decided at the meeting that five big retail counters will be opened in each mandi by the mandi committee, through which fruits, vegetables and daily essential commodities will be made available to the people at cheap and reasonable prices.
The chairman directed all mandi secretaries to form a three-member mobile team to visit the market daily, assess the daily retail prices of fruits and vegetables, and provide this information to the board headquarters. He directed that every retail trader in the area under the committee will be issued a license. “The mobile team will ensure that consumers are not affected by inflation and that goods are available at affordable prices,” he stressed.

In addition, he directed that goods be made available to consumers at affordable prices through mobile vans. He further warned that action would be taken against anyone found selling high-priced goods to the people or tourists during the Char Dham Yatra and tourist season.
