The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) removed encroachment from government land in Jakhan where the land mafia attempted to finish the construction of a building overnight. The officials said that the municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar received confidential information on Wednesday that some people belonging to the land mafia will complete the construction of a building and put a lintel on it overnight.
Considering this, the commissioner sent deputy municipal commissioner Gopalram Binwal to the spot along with the MCD team and police force. The team destroyed the construction using a bulldozer. Besides this, the team also destroyed another encroachment in Jakhan where columns were erected by encroachers after removing the board of MCD. The team also lodged an FIR against them at Rajpur police station, said the officials. Kumar has also directed the officials concerned to identify all such encroachments and take appropriate action against them.
