2-day Uttarkashi district youth festival concludes

The two-day district-level youth festival, held at the Ramlila Maidan in Uttarkashi, concluded on Monday. Competitions were held in seven disciplines- folk songs, folk dances, speeches, story writing, poetry writing, painting and science exhibition. In the folk song competition, the team from Bhatwari development block secured first place while Mori development block came second and Dunda development block came third. In the folk dance category, Naugaon development block won, Bhatwari got second and Dunda got third place.
In the speech competition, Swati Nautiyal of Bhatwari got the first prize for her speech on the topic of Emergency. Aanchal of Dunda got the second place while Ayesha of Naugaon got the third place. In the story writing competition, Monika of Purola got the first place while Aditya of Naugaon got the second place and Monika of Dunda got the third place. In poetry writing, Aarti of Dunda got the first place, Sheetal of Purola got the second place and Divyanshi of Chinyalisaur got the third place.
In the painting competition, organised on the theme of drug de-addiction, Anshul from Dunda won first place while Diya from Naugaon won second place and Vandana from Mori won third place. In the science exhibition, the Dunda team came first, Chinyalisaur second and Naugaon team third.
At the closing ceremony, the chief development officer Jai Bharat Singh distributed prizes to the winning participants.
