The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) on Monday started public hearings on the objections and suggestions received for the proposed Master Plan-2041. The first hearing was held at Shakun Sports Academy on Mata Mandir Road for Sector-1. During the meeting, 18 objections were presented by residents. Most of the concerns were related to land use, development plans and other planning issues. People also shared suggestions to improve the proposed master plan.
The MDDA vice-chairman Banshidhar Tiwari said that the purpose of the public hearing is to include the views of citizens in the planning process. He said that practical suggestions made in the public interest would be considered for inclusion in the Master Plan-2041. He also informed that hearings for objections and suggestions related to other sectors will continue in the coming days as per the scheduled programme. “These consultation processes will help prepare a better and more balanced development plan for Dehradun,” he added.
